#MakeYourStash Willa the Witch Fabric Doll

Image
Hello again! I'll admit it, I'm actually pre-blogging this while I remember to share some more creations with you ;) Otherwise life will get in the way again! Kudos to all of you who do this regularly and still manage to keep up with work/chores/hobbies/etc. Many, many years ago, I bought a few fabric panels on ebay with doll templates. One of them I made in 2010, and while I was convinced I blogged about this at the time, I cannot find the post so I probably didn't... Ooops... In any case, that doll has been sitting in my sewing corner for many years, while her sister has just been folded up in my stash. Not anymore! I finally took her out and completed another project. Now that I have more supplies like different colours of yarn for hair etc, I actually like the new doll better! So without further ado, let me introduce you to Willa the Witch: Isn't she just the cutest?  I tried taking photos in the few days where we actually had no sun, so that probably ...

Halloweening - Halloween Dinner 2014

Image
Hi everyone and happy post-Halloween! I hope you all had a great time at whatever you chose to do last night. As I mentioned in my previous post, I took the day off to prepare for Halloween dinner. I had to decorate the house, carve pumpkins, make dinner, so I really needed that day. It started off in style... I'd ordered groceries online to avoid having to carry pumpkins. The shopping arrived, no pumpkins. Honestly, London must the be only place where you can't find a single pumpkin on 31 October! It took us over an hour to find a pumpkin. We went to at least 6 shops, and ended up at the market. But at last we found one! Only one but better than nothing... So after spending all this time looking for a pumpkin, I needed some breakfast and a break as my cold was really starting to kick in... on Halloween night! But after some food, I got all my decorations out of storage and I got the place Halloweenified :) Then it was time to cook and carve and set the party table. ...

Halloweening - Halloween Party 2014

Image
Happy Halloween everyone! It's finally Halloween! I've taken the day off, planned the annual dinner... and got struck down with a cold. Nothing major, but enough to be really annoying and interfering with said prep. Luckily, I've already been to one Halloween party so let me share that with you tonight, and I'll see how much I can get done about dinner and let you know about that tomorrow. Sounds like a plan? I hope it does coz it's the only one I've got ;) I scared so many people! This was the annual LOTNA Halloween party, so lots of people brought edibles. The ones in the middle are mine but there were some seriously good things around! I did have to take a closeup of my muffin tower though ;) The orange ones were banana muffins, the purple ones were lemon. I didn't make labels so I guess some people were surprised LOL One of the members brought his camera and lights and everything so we could have some good shots taken. I love thi...

Halloweening - Halloween Zumba Class

Image
Hi everyone! It's a busy week, and of course am getting a cold... earlier this week I had a Halloween Zumba class with Dreamdancing Zumba . Well, I haven't been in months and tend to turn up for the special events only, but it's always great fun :) This year lots of people were there and they made a great effort so we had all sorts of costumes! I didn't bring my phone to class but left it in the locker room, so I only have some photos taken in said locker room. But at least they show the outfit. It's all about the costume ;) Taadaa! I actually wore face paint to a Zumba class believe it or not! Luckily it's really good makeup and it didn't run :)  I love my outfit! I originally wanted some skeleton tights but I couldn't find those. I still had these purple and black stripey ones which worked quite well with this excelletn purple skeleton jersey dress. I also had black leg warmers and purple shoes but they don't show here. (I clearly love ...

Halloweening - Samara (The Ring) Costume

Image
Hi all! It's the best season of the year!! I've been preparing already and even had a few parties so lots of stuff to post about :) First up: this year's costume!  I wanted something with some real Halloween oopmh that would still be comfortable yet would make an impression. Not much to ask for at all, right? ;) A few years back, I was working with a girl with gorgeously long black hair. So naturally when she asked me for costume ideas, Samara from The Ring came to mind immediately. Sadly that meant that that idea was out the window for myself. But no longer! I made my very own Samara dress this year, and it looks amazing! I looked everywhere for a nighty that I could alter, but found nothing for a decent price. Luckily, I still had some fabric left which was warm enough for October and cheap enough to be completely 'Ringed' up.  I didn't take any pictures of the actual construction, but getting the dress the way I wanted it was clearly a little bit...

Happy Halloween 2013!

Image
Hi all and Happy Halloween! I already attended a party last weekend and of course watched something Halloween yesterday so I wanted to share the fun with you :) Last Saturday we had our annual Halloween party with my Sci-Fi group and it was so much fun! So many cool costumes! (That's me as Sally from NBC)   A better piccie ofme :) Yes I know I've been wearing this dress a few times now but it's my favourite, it's easy to assemble and oh-so-comfy and warm. Plus of course with the matching handbag it's great! hihi I just loved this photo, it's too funny. That mask was rather simple but soooo scary! And guess what? I won best costume! The competition was done by voting, everyone got 4 tokens to give to others. I ended up with 28 tokens which was a huge amount! My prize was chocolates, muahahaha, don't mind if I do :) Back at home I backed this vanilla/chocolate bundt cake for work. It doesnt really look like the video tutorial did b...

Halloweening - Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular - Take 2

Image
Hi everyone! Oh my it has been a while yet again. I had everything planned out into great detail, prepared posts for when we were away and then of course got stuck with jetlag and a cold. Oh joy... In my last post, I promised to tell you all about our lovely pre-Halloween trip to the US, so tonight after a rather annoying day I decided on pizza and blogging. Yay! As the bf and I took about 800 pictures, I made a few collages for you to see. I figured it's better than having a ton of photos to load. Of course I'm still doing projects, but somehow I seem to have less time crafting while also having less time working. Bizarre... but am slowly getting disillusioned with the tv so there is hope yet. :) So, to jump right in, I took the bf on pretty much the same trip that I went on three years ago . Boston-Salem-Providence-Boston. It was a good trip. Since I'd already lots of things there, I could avoid all the crappy restaurants and sights and just focus on t...

Happy Halloween Everyone!

Image
Good morning all and Happy Halloween! First of all, I hope everyone who was affected by Hurricane Sandy is alright. I have been glued to the news for days and it looked really scary on TV so I can only imagine what it was like IRL...  Secondly, it is Halloween. And for some reason I am not jumping for joy. I've managed to carve zero pumpkins, make zero costumes, write zero blog posts about it, and bake absolutely nothing. I could of course dash into the kitchen now and quickly make something before work but I'm lacking ingredients and awakeness to do so. I guess when I said last year that I didn't want to have a party in 2012 I really meant it! LOL. I'm still sleepy from our trip to Boston and we also had visitors last week which meant I only had a few hours sleep. That plus work equals a very sleepy me. Maybe I'll celebrate next week. I heard in Hoboken they might postpone it, so I think I might just join in. Probably for all the wrong reasons but solidarity ca...
