Too Many Plans and Snow in London

The bf is away for the day, meaning I can sew for the entire day! And I have so many plans! That is what I was thinking this morning when I woke up, eagerly for him to leave and for me to have the place to myself so I could get started... Until I put on my newest DVD of the Gilmore Girls (season 7, I now have the complete collection!) and that was that. It is now 6pm and I have done NOTHING!! How bad... And the list of things to make is getting longer... tomorrow it is 'pakjesavond' and I still have to make preparations for that also... Oh well, I just wanted to check in and let you know that I'm still alive and that I have many posts waiting to be written so that finally my head can empty a bit. LOL I do realise that didnt make much sense but I blame the snow. The what you ask? The snow! It is snowing in London!! Well it was two days ago actually but I do have pics to show you!

As always I was walking to work when I had to go across the park...
(yes I'm lucky like that, walking to work is a treat in London!)

The buses were still running which was something I was quite surprised about...

But it sure looked romantic! And it was really nice to walk around in the snow :)

Obviously there is no law against not sweeping your sidewalk here so I was lucky to not fall on my bum (although I did come close a couple of times)

This is the restaurant right outside my work. It was so funny to see all the tables covered in snow. I found out the next day that there was a huge snowball fight shortly after I left hihi

Well, that's it for now, I really need to get motivated to do some sewing... the snow has melted but it is still freezing outside and I really need something nice and warm to wear in this weather!

Fabulising February - Men's Shirt Dress

Hi everyone! Fabulising February is nearly over and this is the last project I have managed to complete.Tomorrow I'll post a short recap showing all the finished projects. Wanting to go out with a bang, I tackled a men's shirt that the bf bought online many years ago and forgot to return it so I wanted to make something nice out of it. Seems a waste to be throwing away a brand new shirt! Granted, it was white and while probably cotton it was very thick and stiff material. So I dyed it purple. Of course. Once it was purple, I then had to try and do something with it. Easier said than done! I finally found a cute idea for a dress in blogland (didn't save the link though) and I really wanted to try that. But the instructions were super tricky so in the mending pile it went. This is the shirt. Much too large even for the bf but purple at least ;) And a bit wrinkled for being in the bag for a very long time. But with only a little time left in my Fabulising February

My Neighbor Totoro Project #2: Catbus

Hello again! So last time I showed you how I made Totoro. I ended up making yet another doll / pillow from the same movie for the same friend! I think this was a present for a combination of life events, and I knew she would love this. This time, I made Catbus! (if you don't know what Catbus looks like, please Google it as there are so many references out there! Or better yet: watch the movie, you will love it!) Again, I went shopping for fabric... at least this time I knew what I needed, the wool was just perfect, I just had to find the right colours. Catbus has various shades of brown and a bright yellow. The brown was easy but I couldn't find yellow anywhere... In the end I opted for yellow felt which worked as well. Not the tiny squares of craft felt, no the proper felt on a roll. It seemed stronger, and the colour was perfect. Sadly this time there was no tutorial, but I did find a pillow on ebay that served as inspiration for this project. Ok, I mostly copied it... M
