Barbie Bathroom

As I am cooking dinner for the bf and myself (ok, reheating last night's dinner for him and making quick 'Maultaschen' for myself, courtesy of my sister), I wanted to quickly blog something. Something, anything! I cant believe it has nearly been a week since my last blog. I have been so sleepy... after since the last barbeque that I went to after the farm excursion, I've been so tired and dizzy, and work was majorly stressful this week also.

I wanted to share the barbeque pictures with you actually. More like, the barbeque guy's bathroom really. The first thing I heard upon arrival was 'have you seen the bathroom!?' So naturally I had to look. I didn check with said person if it would be ok if his bathroom magickally appeared online which he said was ok. So check this out, this is the most dedicated bathroom I have seen in my entire life! Barbie style...


The bathroom... check out the fur on the cabinets... a few Hello Kitty items were scattered around also, but it is mostly Barbie

Complete with glitter ball! And yes, it works! It has been demonstrated for me... the Barbie border covers about the entire bathroom. And then of course the shower curtain... and the shampoos! Barbie... Overload...

A proper door has also been made so at least you know which room is Barbie's...

Even a magic makeup mirror has been provided!

Where there is space, there is Barbie... most of them boxed and in mint condition...

There were many more cabinets with Barbies in them, but I didnt want to overpost... he even has Barbie wellies on the ceiling and Barbie's truck or dreamcar or something also.

Barbie's Dreamhouse is used in the garden to contain the stereo, hilarious! I just had to share this... Now thats dedication for you!

Am off to eat my yummy Maultaschen (thanx sis!) and then hopefully start on my sister's birthday pressie. Today is the first day I am sort of awake...

Fabulising February - Men's Shirt Dress

Hi everyone! Fabulising February is nearly over and this is the last project I have managed to complete.Tomorrow I'll post a short recap showing all the finished projects. Wanting to go out with a bang, I tackled a men's shirt that the bf bought online many years ago and forgot to return it so I wanted to make something nice out of it. Seems a waste to be throwing away a brand new shirt! Granted, it was white and while probably cotton it was very thick and stiff material. So I dyed it purple. Of course. Once it was purple, I then had to try and do something with it. Easier said than done! I finally found a cute idea for a dress in blogland (didn't save the link though) and I really wanted to try that. But the instructions were super tricky so in the mending pile it went. This is the shirt. Much too large even for the bf but purple at least ;) And a bit wrinkled for being in the bag for a very long time. But with only a little time left in my Fabulising February

My Neighbor Totoro Project #2: Catbus

Hello again! So last time I showed you how I made Totoro. I ended up making yet another doll / pillow from the same movie for the same friend! I think this was a present for a combination of life events, and I knew she would love this. This time, I made Catbus! (if you don't know what Catbus looks like, please Google it as there are so many references out there! Or better yet: watch the movie, you will love it!) Again, I went shopping for fabric... at least this time I knew what I needed, the wool was just perfect, I just had to find the right colours. Catbus has various shades of brown and a bright yellow. The brown was easy but I couldn't find yellow anywhere... In the end I opted for yellow felt which worked as well. Not the tiny squares of craft felt, no the proper felt on a roll. It seemed stronger, and the colour was perfect. Sadly this time there was no tutorial, but I did find a pillow on ebay that served as inspiration for this project. Ok, I mostly copied it... M
