More Purple!

Morning everyone! I havent forgotten you or my crafting, but it has gotten soooo warm here suddenly (30C today!) that my crafting motivation has quite evaporated... But I've been cooking and mainly used some of the great recipes I posted last week. I even made the chocolate banana bundt cake for a friend's birthday and wasnt paying attention so added the chocolate in the beginning already. Oops! So for the marbling effect I added more chocolate so now I have a double chocolate banana bundt cake! I just hope my friend will like it... Pics will be added to this post as soon as I have them later on. :)

I did want to share something with you, and that would be my new PURPLE Le Creuset addition :) I was in TK Maxx the other day (TJ Maxx for the US people out there) and there it was, screaming 'buy me buy me for I am on sale and I am pretty', a lovely and perfect purple Le Creuset teapot :)

It took me forever to get a nice picture with it, but it looks amazing! It is an old model as the new ones have the two-tone like the pans but it is still lovely and the same colour as the bottom part of my LC pan I got for Christmas :)

And the price of this beauty? Only £9.99 instead of £23 anywhere else :) I realised I dont drink much tea as the bf has his teapot and we dont like the same tea. So now we have his and hers teapots and I can have tea to my heart's content. It kind of reminded me of the Disney movie 'Up' where they have his and hers chairs, his all square and manly and hers all curvy and feminine (see how I didnt say 'girly?' LOL). The same with our teapots now :)

Ok must dash and cut the cake or I will be late for work. I have finished some more projects but no pics yet, argh! Speak soon!

Fabulising February - Men's Shirt Dress

Hi everyone! Fabulising February is nearly over and this is the last project I have managed to complete.Tomorrow I'll post a short recap showing all the finished projects. Wanting to go out with a bang, I tackled a men's shirt that the bf bought online many years ago and forgot to return it so I wanted to make something nice out of it. Seems a waste to be throwing away a brand new shirt! Granted, it was white and while probably cotton it was very thick and stiff material. So I dyed it purple. Of course. Once it was purple, I then had to try and do something with it. Easier said than done! I finally found a cute idea for a dress in blogland (didn't save the link though) and I really wanted to try that. But the instructions were super tricky so in the mending pile it went. My Neighbor Totoro Project #2: Catbus

Hello again! So last time I showed you how I made Totoro. I ended up making yet another doll / pillow from the same movie for the same friend! I think this was a present for a combination of life events, and I knew she would love this. This time, I made Catbus! (if you don't know what Catbus looks like, please Google it as there are so many references out there! Or better yet: watch the movie, you will love it!) Again, I went shopping for fabric... at least this time I knew what I needed, the wool was just perfect, I just had to find the right colours. Catbus has various shades of brown and a bright yellow. The brown was easy but I couldn't find yellow anywhere... In the end I opted for yellow felt which worked as well. Not the tiny squares of craft felt, no the proper felt on a roll. It seemed stronger, and the colour was perfect. Sadly this time there was no tutorial, but I did find a pillow on ebay that served as inspiration for this project. Ok, I mostly copied it... M
