Halloweening - Mod Podge Photo Frame

Halloweening in July? I've seen a lot of Christmas in July posts out here in Blogland but not much yet about Halloween which as you may know if my favourite holiday :) It's never too early to make something Halloweeny!

I have also seen many posts about Mod Podged photo frames and I just had to try it out one day. I had bought a frame a while ago at the pound store down the road (not one of the main ones just one of those handy ones that are everywhere).

I chose a plain silver coloured vertical frame that was wide enough to add something on the top, because I had bought these when in Stuttgart in October last year:

I had bought them for this kind of project so what better time to use them? :) I still wasnt sure if I should paint the frame or use something else when I was on the Hobbycraft website and they had all this paper for about £2 (darn I thought it was less than that) in packs of 5 different kinds. They happened to have one pack that was exactly what I needed so I bought that and I had all to make my new photo frame :) Ready to see the result?

I had also bought some on-sale Halloween stickers (79p for a whole sheet, score!) and added some in the bottom corner. I used three out the five paper sheets and alternatively Mod Podged them onto the frame.

After glueing all the paper onto the frame and several coats of MP later, I glued the cats and pumpkins on the top with my trusty glue gun. Arent they cute?? I didnt end up using the witches as the frame would get too crowded.

Once everything was ready I had to locate a suiting photo for in the frame (that took about a week which is why this post is so late hihi). I decided on this Halloween pic of the bf and myself from about 3 yrs back. It's such a hilarious photo! Shame the background decoration in the photo is a bit crooked but that's just how it is. I can always change the photo again later.

I dont know about you, but I love this frame :) So all in all I spent about £4 counting the frame, the paper, the stickers, and the pumpkins. If that's not a bargain I dont know what is! A big thank you to all MP bloggers out there for your inspiration!

UPDATE: The frame got knocked over the other day and all the pumpkins came tumbling off the frame. Reason: hot glue on MP does NOT hold. I have not MPd the pumpkins back on and threw the frame around a bit and it's solid as a rock :) Just thought it would be good to share this discovery :)

    Great Halloween frame ... You did a marvelous job on it! Love the black and white and the little pumpkins are darling. Looks like it was fun to do, too. Photo looks like you two had a lot of fun! You are so very crafty!

    One of my best friends was born on Halloween and she has always decorated her house for some great parties. Always a blast!

Easter Prep Stage 3 - Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you're having a great day and no matter where you are you've had your fair share of Easter eggs whether real or chocolate. :) I was a bit late as usual so had a few last minute projects to complete last night... Lots of cool Easter projects though, let me show you:  I started this at last week's Craft Meet. Everyone around me was knitting and I felt a bit like a 5-year old with my paint chips cutting out eggs, but there was a need for it. I found a great idea on Pinterest and just had to try it. Fabulising February - Men's Shirt Dress

Hi everyone! Fabulising February is nearly over and this is the last project I have managed to complete.Tomorrow I'll post a short recap showing all the finished projects. Wanting to go out with a bang, I tackled a men's shirt that the bf bought online many years ago and forgot to return it so I wanted to make something nice out of it. Seems a waste to be throwing away a brand new shirt! Granted, it was white and while probably cotton it was very thick and stiff material. So I dyed it purple. Of course. Once it was purple, I then had to try and do something with it. Easier said than done! I finally found a cute idea for a dress in blogland (didn't save the link though) and I really wanted to try that. But the instructions were super tricky so in the mending pile it went. This is the shirt. Much too large even for the bf but purple at least ;) And a bit wrinkled for being in the bag for a very long time. But with only a little time left in my Fabulising February ...
